Last weekend play at Mahkota Aman, Bt 11 for a friendly game. Overall our club won the games but I myself still loosed. I played 3 guys in single and won only one of them. There I found variety of game styles that I never play before. These added my experience in table tennis and hope will help to improve my game.
First guy I faced served like kenta -I had trouble taking his serve and created many pop up. His chop to my fh were very heavy that many of my loops went to the net. I end up with 1-3 loss. My weakness here are serve return of kenta style and looping backspin.
Second game was with pimple guy(zainal). The games were very close but I lost 1-3. I found his weakness on topspin serve return in the middle but it was too late for the comeback. The good thing play with pimple opponent is I have opportunity to attack. However the downside is hard to take his wobbly ball.
Third game was the tough one. He is a pure hitter. My serve, serve return and bad drive got hit badly. It look like I will loose easily. Down 0-2 I change strategy by playing mid distance and loop his serves and gave spinny drives. It worked great when he began to misses his hits. By the end I took the last three game and won 3-2.
Here are my findings after the games:
1. Need to improve on serve return
2. Still weak in bh
3. Fh looping rarely applied, more of hits/smash.
4. Short game not so good.

Short Game
With T05 on my fh, I need to master short game play. So far I tend to stay away from table but with this rubber it is no good for that. Besides short game has more chances of attack which is hard to do when you are away from table. Played with matnor and hazlee, it is hard to get 3rd ball attack. Maybe it my serves. Sometimes they can attack my serves when it not done well. They played placing game that make me hard to attack. Another problem is I rarely use my fh for looping that I need for consistency and stay in attacking mode.

Goodbye Sriver G2
After 8 months of using Sriver G2- I changed it to Sriver G2Fx with Mie JKR. The reason is to be more of a looper style by let go the rubber. The rubber is not very good for spin purposes. I'm not sure whether the rubber effect my style or it just me who tend to hits every ball. Here are my findings after using the rubber:
1. Change my style from close to table hitter/blocker to away from table retriever/blocker.
2. Good as fh rubber only. On bh it is hard to control.
3. Very fast, good control, good for drive away from table.
4. Can attack long serve easily.
5. Can loop underspin ball.
6. Not very spinnny.
7. Fast serve and need jerk to produce good spin- got many points from that.
8. Hard to counterloop.
My setup now is To5/G2Fx. This setup more likely to be close to table attacker.

Go for Points Not For Win
If your mind is set that you should win the game, it will pressure you even more. That will not do you any good but it will make things even worse. Focus only to get the point only and try your best possible shot. Do not rush for a kill just controll until you get the real opportunity. Opportunity could be created by applying controll offensive stroke and good ball placing.
Last night I won against a guy that are better than me again. The guy objectives were merely revenge and want to win badly. I just play cool and relax, just keep putting the ball on table. This guy made lots of mistakes and missed many points. It worked perfectly for me and I won 4-0.
I should learn from zuri style of play. He just controll loop every ball untill real chance appear to make a kill. His strokes are smooth and well executed. His footwork also the best amongst our club. I think these factors contribute my lost 1-3 to him. My style of hit/block were beaten by his spinny loop/control style. I will work on loop to loop rally plus hit/smash alternatively to face him next session.

Sriver G2 Fx
Last night was my third session with sriver G2fx on my bh . Below are my findings:
1. Opening loop very easy
2. Block good but the ball slow.
3. Excellent controll
4. Good for active shot
5. Higher percent of returning ball.
Two guys at my club are very hard to beat. They are Din Post and M. Nor. No win with Din Pos yet. But last night I won against M.Nor 5-1. That make 2-8 since July09. I can manage to take his serves now and good bh block put me in better situation. Sometimes I can win against members club that are better than me like Hazlee and Zuri.
Recently I have problem against Syed when using this setup. His fast serve and fast push on fh and bh make weak return for a kill. This because of slow return from bh.

Tips From Member
Last night was a good game. I won 3 out of 4 member's club. I lost 0-3 to Din Post but two of the games were deuces. Pretty competitive games. I also exchange rubber with mie JKR from G2 to G2Fx for my bh. It has more controll, softer and spinnier.
Got new tips from club member how to improve skill.
1. more forward stroke on bh
2. only small arm move not whole body for more stable stroke
3. push forward during block(active block)

Feeling Down
Last session was not good at all. Feeling like I was not improve . Flip set up also did not work. G2 on bh felt awkward and on bh lack of attack on slow ball. I lost my all of my game to Lie, Zuri , Usop and Din post. I have to admitted that they are better than me. I dont mind beaten if the game were competitive but the session I was badly beaten.
I guess I need to improve on forehand using T05 and need some good tactics. I will change bh rubber to sriver L and see result. I need to be more relax, control and also good short game.
In poli I also lost 2-3 to Man awam(t05/sriver). Look like I beat myself(lost points cause of errors).
Feel like I want to stress on basic stroke again and start slow and control loop.

Control Loop
I tend to hit/smash ball if it high enough. I need to rush for right time and accuracy for the hits. This style consume lot of energy and risk of consistency. Sometimes my hits didnot work to counter spinny loops. To overcome this I need to be patient and do controll loop instead. Another weakness is I tend to block strokes that can be counter. This will put me in defence position that most probably I lost the raly. Be Offensive by applying forehand strokes/loops.
Club game results
vs Lie(1-4)
-His hit/block overpowered me.
vs M.Nor(1-3)
- His short game with placing make me in trouble. I found his weakness by serving short to his forehand.
vs Zuri(3-2)
-fh to fh rally give me advantage. My bh block and serve return worked good. His rpb bh were not consistence.

Taman Tas Friendly Game
Eight of our club member went to Taman tas for freindly game. Result are we won both on single(5-3) and doubles(3-1). For me personally, I lost 3 games and win one game in single and win a double game(partner with wahid). I felt like Im not playing at my true capacity. I think I can win if I play more consistent. The opponents are about the same level as me.

Mixed setup
Different people different style. Fh and bh setup felt different with those players. Feel that T05/G2 better this time. Maybe the problem is from G2. Too fast, less spin and bad for near table game for bh or fh. This rubber good for control and away from table looping.
vs Zuri(3-2)
fh to fh rally using G2, I lost during game but win during stroke practice. G2 on backhand still not stable. Got advantage from his weak bh(rpb style).
setup mixed T05/G2 and G2/T05
vs Hazlee(1-4)
this guy ia a good blocker/hitter. Ball trajectory kind of flat. Hard to fh loop with G2. Some chop were good to get points.
setup: G2/T05
vs Syed(3-2)
Bh stroke with G2 good against his fast loop. However some serve return from this side were high. Fh with T05 got many points from serves.
setup: T05/G2
vs Din Pos(2-4)
It was easier to return bh with G2. Gameplay style become attacker against him. Fh stroke using T05 was good for return serve and loop. Bh was okay for control and block.

JERK
I got advice from PP4M forum that to make good top spin you need to jerk from bottom. From watching zuri style of game, he uses lot of jerk to make spin. Maybe I can apply this to my game to be more offensive style. I cannot just block and defence because this will put me in weak situation.
I know this will consume lot of energy to play that way. There is no easy way to be a better player.
Last night result:
vs matnor(2-3)
Always flip setup and almost win the game. I lost because of his strategy. When I backed off, he did short stroke and when I stay near he used sidespin/topspin loop to my left side.
vs Din Post(0-4)
Very confuse of his pimpled effect. Still cannot handle wobbly ball. Some of my bh's were good.
TBS G2/T05
vs Zuri(0-3)
His loop, counter loop and serve outplayed my stroke. The only his wekness is his bh(because he just try RPB style). My fast fh opening loop with T05 can be counterattack because he know ball path already.
TBS t05/G2
vs Syed(1-4)
Fh with T05 good for fast attack. Sometimes bh with G2 also good for blocking his loop.
TBS T05/G2
Conclusion: Always flip setup is good to confuse opponent but it also will mess my style and consistancy. I guess T05 is best for bh cause it can chop, loop and hit well. G2 on fh still ok except for looping near table.

Back after a Month
Last night game I started play after a month break. Some adjustments had to be made to get tuned. The game back to as usual. Performance against club members was not much difference as before.
vs M.Nor(2-4)
-his strength: serve to bh, fast return, slow sidespin, short game
-my weakness; less offensive, serve return
-his weaknessr: my bh chop
- new/learn: bh loop on backspin(once)
vs Zuri(1-3)
- this guy getting better on bh, serve and 3rd ball attack. My serve return good on fh but my serves got flip easily.

Loop
Last night learn to loop fh & bh. For slow ball it ok do controll loop against Hj. Din. It was last session before ramadan. I'll take a break for about a month and start again after aidil fitri.
Game
vs mie JKR(2-3)
Lead 2-0 but lost the next 3 sets. Main problem was return serves from bh. Try to bh loop/flick but didnot work. Bh push short/chop get spinny loop from him. Need to work on bh serve loop or fast push or fh return.
vs Hj Din(4-0)
Looping practice begin. Stay away from table and control loop from fh & bh work fine. His bh smash didnot work this time. My style totally different from drive/smash to control loop. This style make me more relax and can control ball position. I dont know whether it also work on other player or not. Against this guy was okay because he can not handle high spinny ball.
vs Mat nor(1-4)
Fist game were great but after that I lost control. His fast near table attack kill my mid distance style. Should I play near table or mid-distance? Play near table will limit looping capability and need more agressive. Main problems were:
1. Some serves get attacked
2. Some serve return were high from bh side
3. Short game- I stay too far from table
4. Too much defend- need to attack more
5. No controll loop were applied.

Friendly Match with Taman Tas
Ten Taman Tas Player came to Berjaya Permai for friendly match. Eight of them are chinese. Game were well organized and the result TBP lost 4-7 in single and 1-3 in doubles. However their top players lost to our pimple master Din Pos.
I lost 2-3 to Chinese and 0-3 to Safri(I won last session). This is not bad because that only my 3rd session with setup G2/T05. T05 on backhand need more practice especially against long pip player(Safri & Din Pos). Last session when I used T05/G2 I won against these guys.
When played with Din Post, I lost 0-2. Forehand receive and smash good but backhand return with T05 create pop up or hit net. Fast topspin/side spin serves still effective for third ball kill.
Against Hamzuri I won 3-2. My strength were serve low, serve sidespin wide to his backhand and fast to his body. Chopping return serve using To5 make him hard to loop.
Using G2 on forehand away from table I tend to block or defend only. I have less confident to counterhit or counterloop using this rubber compared with T05. Maybe because of softer feel and less spin created by this rubber.
Overall- T05 is geting better in my backhand but need practice on backhand loop. Forehand I need to work on counterloop/counterhit away from table.

Close Table
Last night I played close to table and apply more aggresive stroke. Forehand stroke very good however backhand showed some weaknesses. Here are results of my games against members club.
vs Hazlee(1-4)
Overall good game. This guy good at hit away from table and placing the ball far left and far right. Play close to table need fast reaction from both backhand and forehand and also good footwork. I need to stress on footwork and backhand strokes near the table. Maybe take the ball early/off bounce for better backhand. To play this guy(away from table hitter) I need fast block near table.
vs Mazlan (3-0)
The only game I won last night. Key: serves, attack serve return, attack serve and good return. Many of his smashes hit net.
vs Zuri(1-3)
Good game. This time I was more agressive by counterhit his loops. Eventhough many of them were misses, but this affect him to adjust his loops directions. Counterloops became more interesting. However his backhand strokes very effective for many points. My serves also got loop from his backhand. It is better to loose with more agressive strokes than loosing with passive stroke(block away from table). Maybe in short terms I won by using passive stroke but in long term short game/close to table will get some advantages. His serves and spinny loops were the key of his strength. I need to work on serve return and counterloop.

Confuse Again
Last night I played with Hazlee & Mie Sulong but the feel was not like last session which felt so great. I felt very lazy and not serious this time. Play with Hazlee , my emotion was not so good. I lost 0-4. With setup G2/T05 below are my findings:
1. Serves with G2 didnot get chance to attack.
2. Some serve still got points.
3. He was more agressive.
4. I was very passive.
5. Receives serve and block with T05 off table( due to spin)
vs Mie Sulong(3-4)
1. Chop his serve with T05 got many points.
2. Serves getting points.
3. Game were mainly on table(push, chop- not open)
4. His loops better than mine
5. I rarely attack, just positioning ball.
6. Opportunity for forehand attack were limited. Some attacked drive got blocked.
7. Backhand drive/loop good.
Last session with G2/T05 felt so great. But this time the feeling is reversed. This make me to consider setup T05/G2 back. Below are pro and con. of these setup:
G2/T05
1. faster forehand drive
2. good backhand chop and loop using T05
3. good for away from table
4. bad on receive spinny ball from backhand
5. Hard to loop from forehand
6. No imrovement on forehand but better on backhand.
T05/G2
1. Serve spinner
2. Looping forehand easy
3. Looping backhand is harder on G2.
4. Forehand smash/kill slower
5. backhand block better
6. backhand receive serve with G2 need adjustment(loop, push fast or flick)
7. Longer rally.
8. good for close table game
9. Learning T05 on forehand and little progress on backhand(G2 loop)
Now, I'm confused again which setup to choose. However I will play T05/G2 setup on next friendly match with POLISAS Team.
Setup

Last session change to G2/T05 because T05 on forehand a bit slow and no good for away from table stroke.
Forehand(T05)
1. T05 spinnier but less speed
2. serve spinnier
3. Higher arc, better topspin
4. Feel hard
5. smash- G2 better
Backhand(T05)
1. good opening loop
2. better chop/push(spinnier)
3. better receive serve( less bouncy)

T05/G2 Review
Forehand(T05)
- spinnier
- smash need adjustment
- block away from table got to net
- serve-better
-receive serve- low and good.
- loop:getting better
Backhand(G2)
-receives serve
chop good, flip and opening loop not so good. return ball get attacked.
-block: good
- Control: good
Using this setup I lost to mie sulong and mie JKR(I used to win before). Main problem is receive serve from backhand. The return easy to get attacked.
Current status I only win against Hj Din & Syed. Winning is not my main target but I need to improve on some strokes. The stroke are:
1. Returning serve- flip & open loop.
2. Opening Loop
3. Forehand stroke from backhand to backhand opponent.
4. More aggresive and attack

Push and Soft Touch
Last session practiced push and soft touch using T05. Push on slow serves and soft touch on spinny serve were great. However need more practice on loops. Overall result I lost all games but I learnt something. Recently Ive been a blocker with ready position on centre with the frequent use of backhand strokes/blocks. To be an attacker, position should be on left side to get benefit of forehand attack. I will apply this style by attacking from left to opponent backhand.

Second Session with T05
Still practice forhand stroke using T05. Stroke was not stable yet. Ball tend to go to the right. Hitting is getting better but looping were rarely applied. This rubber is for looping but my style still hitting/smashing. Not like the first session, my looping were good. It hard to change my habit but I need it for better control and performance. Block is faster with this equipment and I found out that fast push ia also great.
Thing to improve
1. Footwork- stroke look awkward because of foot position. Still confuse whether to use forehand or backhand for middle ball.
2. Block on high arch spinny loop off the table. Should I close the angle more or apply counterloop for this kind of stroke?
3. Advice from club member- dont rush for kill but controll shot/loop and placing the ball to vacant space or use fade instead of hook.
4. Bad return of low serve to my left from zuri (either off the table or hit net)
Last night result
vs Mie sulong(3-0)
vs Mat Nor(3-2) - upset.
- need to watch his backhand flicks to my left after receiving serves.
- serve short and low to prevent attack/fast push.
- topspin the ball to push him away from table.
vs Zuri(2-3)
- close match but felt bad because he use handshake instead of penhold(normal) but still won.
- his serves and spinny loops get me in trouble.

High Cost Setup
Last night new setup begin. I used most expensive rubber Tenergy 05(RM170) with sriver G2(RM110) on Timo Boll Spirit bat(RM 290). Total cost for this setup is about RM600 including glue and shipping. This setup is the most expensive so far. Last setup TBS sriver G2/EL cost about RM 480(second highest).
First session with T05 was ok. I can do all strokes just fine with it except for smash. My smashes was off the table however smashes from longer distance still good. Maybe I need adjustment for those shots. Loops were spinny and short and make opponent hard to predict. One of my club member said that the ball is not well round cause of strange spin. I think that not because of the ball but the effect come from my T05. Loop and block were better than any other rubber. With T05 I have to make more precise shots in order to land the ball on table. However I like the hard feel during stroke/loop.
T05 vs G2 on forehand
serve- T05 more spin and can give double bounce for same strokes
receive- G2 has advantage for attacking high ball
3 rd ball- fast attack for G2, Spinny loop T05 better.
loop- T05 for short ball, G2 for away from table.
smash/flat hit- G2 better
block- T05 better
T05 vs G2 on backhand
receive- T05 can give low and short ball
loop- G2 ok, T05 did not try yet
smash- G2 better

Losing Month
This month my performance getting down or others become better. I lost to many person that i had won before such as hazlee, matnor, syed and zafir. May be equipment factor get my mind set not strong enough. I have to forget about equipment and just do the best with current equipment or setup. The most important is technics and confidence. I felt that EL was slow and dead on my forehand. so I change it to Nittaku hurricane3 again, but this equipment is too soft and springy that make my shot off the table. Hoever it is good for chop. I dont want to go backward again to this chopping style.
Last night kind of try and error lesson for equipment and setup. So far I think sriver G2/EL is my best setup untill I got new equipment.

Chinese Loop
Last night I try some chinese loop. Ball went fast & spinnier. Some were of the table. I felt ackward when applied this stroke. May be it's a beginning.
Played double it was ok using TBS sriver EL/G2. We won 2-1 in double. Backhand loop kill very effective however need to work on slow ball.
When playing single, I start to feel bad about my stroke. Forehand and backhand didnot get what I used to be. The only good thing is forehand loop against backspin. For backhand Sriver G2 good for chop and block only.
vs Mie JKR (2-3)
- serve to forehand, made me confuse whether to attack or play save. Mostly I choose to play save. My stroke mostly gave no spin ball. It was good tactics against him but how about with others. Ive got to try more spinny loop.
vs Mie sulong( 1-4)
-I did not get 3d ball kill anymore.
-He still got 3rd ball kill. Need to improve on serve return. Usually I attack his serve, but now he serve low and short.
- I hardly had chance to attack.

Another Try for TBS sriver EL/G2 Setup
Sriver EL feel very good for backhand. Control, loop and attack are getting better. However I have to change it to forehand for more spin on forehand. Sriver G2 is good for everything except for spin. Sriver G2 on backhand is faster but less control. Im going to stay for this setup for a while to improve my forehand spin, short/fast attack and faster backhand.
Sriver EL on Forehand:
1- Need harder stroke to make it faster
2- Grazing more for more spin/sidespin.
3- More precise stroke for good ball placement
Sriver G2 on backhand
1. Need practice on looping serve return.
2. improve on away from table looping.
Game result

-win due to low/short serves.

Confuse About Forehand Stroke
Last night I confused of my forehand stroke. Should I used sriver G2 or EL . G2 on forehand not so good for looping and close game. EL good for looping but lack of power. I tried played EL on forehand against Hazlee but lost 2-3. However I got many points from good serves.
When playing with zuri using G2/EL , I lost 3-0. Last time I won against him only because of good serve and follow by 3rd ball attack. Now he know the trick already and harder for me to get those points. I missed some shots on spinny side spin ball. Feel like I need to spin more but the G2 rubber is not suitable for that.

Practice Backhand
Recently my backhand getting better with faster stroke. With sriver EL I feel more control and can loop kill some balls. To get faster ball if I hit on tip of bat( not in the middle nor near fingers). This will make ball travel curve to left( backhand fade shot). Ball hit fingers now rarely happen.
Last night, I play with a guy from kuala pahang. His stroke(backhand and forehand) always goes on my backhand. That kind of shots put me in trouble since backhand is my weaker side. I lost to him 1-3. However it gave me good experience and practice for better backhand.

Faster But Less Spin (G2)
Last night I used G2 on forehand and El on backhand. Ball travel faster and playing style was aggresive attacker. Some faster ball got block and hard to return. I need to step back after attack for more time to apply next stroke. Spin of ball getting less because of the speed.

Need For Forehand Rubber
My current forehand rubber (sriver EL) may not suite my style. The rubber is not fast enough for quick attack but good for spin. For away from table this rubber is not powerful but good for slow spinny loop. These characteristics do not suit my forehand attack and I need for other choice. When using setup EL/G2 I lost some games but I can win by switching to G2/EL. Seemed like G2 is better on my forehand.
Result
vs Hj Din(3-2)- down 0-2 but win after attack to his weakness (forehand).

Faster bhand or forehand?
Sriver EL -good control but less speed compare to Sriver G2.
Passive block- ball get very slow. So I 'd be better using G2 on bhand and EL on my forehand.
Maybe I need to change sriver EL to other faster/spinneir rubber for my forehand. I'm thinking of Tenergy 05 or Blue Whale II but they arent available in nearby store.

TBS sriver EL/G2
Passive block- ball get very slow. So I 'd be better using G2 on bhand and EL on my forehand.
Maybe I need to change sriver EL to other faster/spinneir rubber for my forehand. I'm thinking of Tenergy 05 or Blue Whale II but they arent available in nearby store.
Game Result
vs Hamid(1-4)- not a bad game anyway.
vs Mnor(2-2)- I'm getting better.
Tip from companion:

Confused Again
I got confused again about my setup. Sometime TBS sriver EL/G2 is good but sometime it vice versa. Below are my judgment about my setup
Sriver EL on forehand compared to G2:
1. more control
2. more spin
3. less speed
4. good for looping
5. more on defence
6. good serves
Sriver EL on backhand:
1. Control opening loop
2. less speed
3. less chop effect- using G2 I got more points from chop return serves.
Result

vs Zuri (1-3)

Off Table Block
serve:
-short serve getting better, hard for m.nor & Lie to attack. Got some points from good serve.
-good backhand loop on slow serve return
- need to improve backhand block on fast serve return
receive serve:
- backhand chop good
- need faster forehand return on no spin ball either attack or loops.
attack:
Lack opportunity of third ball attack against those two players. Lack of loops from either side(f/hand and backhand). Attacking style more of hit/smash. For stable performance I need to do more control loops.
Backhand attack need to be improved.
defence:
was forced to be defender. Good defence against them but need to be more of attacking defender. Try counterloop instead of passive block.

Forehand Serve Return
My forehand serve return were getting better. Some forehand flick surprised opponent. However receive serve from ust. shukri still off table. Maybe I need more soft touch for my forehand serve return. Backhand serve return chop working great. Strokes mainly on forehand side.

Practice Serve
Try new serve technics. The ball getting spinnier but some balls are missed. I need more practice to make it better.
My forehand is very dominant compared to backhand. Now even receiving serve I use forehand for next forehand stroke. I barely used my backhand this time. That was not good practice to improving my weakness on backhand stroke. I lost many points on this side. However my overall game was getting better. Should I stress on my strength or my weakness?
vs Hamid (3-4)
- stay back off table
- return serve to my left hard to take, only several block land on table . I need to do more fast backhand stroke to overcome this.
vs Zuri(3-2)
- another upset. I lost first 2 games but came back for winner.
- strength; fast serve to body and drive to his left.
-weak: Struggle to take his loops to my left(backhand) .
vs Mie Sulong(4-0)
- loop his serve
- stay calm
- he was too 'gopoh'

Less Playtime
Last week I only play once, and this week will be the same because Im going back to P. Puteh. I spend more time on watching t/tennis videos on internet. Last night my game getting better therefore I won 3 out of 4 club members. This time I used TBS with sriver EL/G2. Forehand control, defence and attack were very good. Backhand stroke still got weakness except loop become faster. I need more controll and attacking ability from the G2 rubber.
Forehand using EL
1. more control
2. serve better- got easy points and opportunity for 3 ball attack.
3. better loop
4. spinnier
5. Counter attack on loop
6. Forehand push better-frequently used
7. Better for long play-away from table
8. Less powerful compared to G2
Backhand with G2
1. Spinnier
2. faster
3. less control
4. loop hit net- this never happen using other rubber(either off table or good)
5. last night the use of backhand was rare. So I cannot comments more.
Games Result
vs Hj. Din(3-2)
- placing ball to his forehand(spinny loop) key to easy points
vs Hamid(1-4)

vs Mie Sulong(3-1)

Lighter Bat
Without Nh3 pro & Higher(replace with G2 & EL) my bat is lighter. Using this setup TBS G2/EL, I list the following findings:
1. Faster stroke/reaction because of lighter bat.
2. Ball travel bit slower.
4. Need adjustment for b/hand serve return to avoid pop up.
3. Less feel of ball contact on bat during hard push.
5. Easier to loop backspin
6. Backhand loop on serve slower with EL but more consistance
7. More variations/angle for f/hand attack
8. Serve using G2 getting better/easier.
9. Block method need to be adjusted for more agressive block.
10. Work on more forehand loop(upward motion with long stroke) instead of drive especially on backspin ball.
11. Got more control on both side but less speed.

Hitter
Last 2 session I play with 2 hitter(am I a hitter too?) in my club Hamid and Hj Din. Games were not interesting because we all are hitters and ball fly base on speed only without spin just like playing with hard bat. I also change my setup to TBS sriver EL/sriver G2( I remove H3 for Sriver EL).
Evaluation for this setup:
1. Bat is lighter
2. Forehand loop against backspin is easier
3. Faster b/hand but with less control.
4. Sriver EL felt harder and faster on TBS compare to on LKT 729. Looping need to be adjusted.
5. Forehand stroke not as powerful when using EL compare to G2.
6. Serve with El are more flexible and spinnier.
7. Im going to try setup TBS Sriver G2/EL for next session.
8. I'm going to work on more looping and reduce hit/smash.
9. To play against hitter I have to stay away back for defence/counter loop.
vs Hj Din(3-2) & (3-2)
He is getting better on block and b/hand attack. Forehand attack with EL easy for him to block compare with G2. This time no easy win for me. My good setup for points were fast serve to f/hand and b/hand for third ball kill. High spinny balls also make him in trouble.
vs Hamid(1-3) & (0-4)
First session games were pretty close. But whe he used bryce speed, I lost badly because of his spinny and fast attack .
Reflective:
1. Serve short to avoid fast return/loop return
2. Fast Serve to his body for third ball attack.
3. Serve return still weak on b/hand and forehand
4. Stay off table was better for blocking his stroke(include after serve )
5. No chance of third ball attack unless I apply item 1). and 2), above.

Flip Setup
Pro & Con using setup nittaku H3/sriver G2
Forehand with G2
1. G2 is faster
2. Blocking faster
3. looping- harder
4. Smash- excellent
5. defence- feel harder but ball land on table
6. Better feel
7. serve- good
8. Control-good
overall: I love it on my forehand
Lately I won game against club member that are better then me using this rubber on forehand.
However I have to change it to my b/hand for better b'hand. I'll work on H3 on my forehand eventhough the feel is different(too soft) for harder stroke.
Backhand with G2
1. Loop-faster
2. push-felt hard and not very spinny
3. block and hit-faster
4. Offence: getting better
5. Chop: H3 is better
overall: Im going to try this rubber on my b/hand for better play in future after long def. play using H3. I hope when using G2 my b/hand will create new dimension for more offensive stroke.
vs Hamid(0-3)
Didnt play full capacity, just try flip bat f/hand rubber to b/hand rubber and vice versa.
Forehand(H3) fell too soft but b/hand (sriver G2) stroke was faster. Felt like my backhand better by using Sriver G2.
vs Hazlee(1-3)
Lost maybe his ranking is higher than me and my stroke was not consistence because of new setup.

Mental Strength
Game need good mental, physical and technic plus placing. Last night my mental strength was not good. Lack of concentration and maybe felt overconfident make the game not as exciting as usual.
However I practiced controlled forehand stroke with Mie JKR for better ball positioning. It is a good way for gaining consistant stroke.
vs Mie Sulong(3-2) & (3-2)
Practice backhand stroke(drive loop instead of push-block). Still having problem with high ball(cannot apply b/hand smash or loop kill). I need to close bat for those kind of ball and more of horizontal stroke.
On game, he was very aggresive atacker. I just positioning the ball and more of defensive side(away from table). Some aggresive attacked seem work for several points. This time I have limited chances of looping his serves. My fast topspin serves were well returned and hard to attack for winner. I got many points by forcing him to make mistakes( well placing and good def.) . Slow halfcourt return will get loop kill from him. I need faster drive/loop or more spinny drive to avoid giving him easy points. Anyway I won both games because of good controll play.
vs Mokhtar(1-3)
Actually my mind wasnot set for good playing mood. Game were pretty close however the concentration was main factor of loosing points. Serves, serve return and smashes were good but short return of pimple ball effect always hit nets especially on b/hand. I have to find ways of attacking from b/hand on pimple effect ball. So far I just pushed the ball to his pimple side which is easy for him to return(his favourite pimple stroke).

Looping Backspin
Looping backspin with sriver G2 is very hard. Most of them were of the table. Maybe technics was not right. Hitting and driving very good. Backhand need more forward and close bat for faster shot.
Brush ball didnot give more spinning effect. I have to use more mechanical spin by hitting ball into sponge. I dont know why I tend to open my bat more often. That make the ball fly high and easy for opponent to kill. Block/ lift smash ball feel so heavy matbe I need to use longer follow through. Compare to chinese rubber brushing is enough for good spinning and no need for more mechanical force. With sriver I have to use more mechanical power for spinning and speed.
vs Hj Din (2-3)
try to spin ball but didnot work. His fast push to my forehand hard to loop with sriver G2. Weak backhand return gave opportunity for him to hit with pimple rubber.
vs Mie JKR(1-3) & (1-3)
This was just a practice session. I just try to find best combination for bat setup. However this time he used right method of receiving serves, pushing low/dead ball instead of looping it. His attacking strategy worked this time. Opportunity for me to attack were limited. This was his first win this year against me(upset).
Vs Zuri(3-0)
After loosing to 2 members club, I made an upset win against Zuri. I didnt see his spinny loop more often cause the chance were limited by returning speedy ball and low ball. My 3rd ball attack were so good especially when I serve with fast nospin ball.
Vs Mie sulong(3-1)
This guy know to attack only and no controll over the ball. He misses many point because of his inpatientness.

Long Stroke
Last night wasnot feel as good as before. It is frustating when u cannot get what you want. Backhand loop was not good, just push and block only. Opponents keep on returning ball on backhand cause it was my weakness. I cannot avoid it and have to work more stroke and loop from this side. Concentration on game not good either. Play with 3 guys but lost to a new lefthanded player. I should've won but loop on backspin always hit net.
vs mie sulong(3-2)
f/hand stroke from leftside after good b/hand fast push get to net. Need to step back.

Sriver G2
Last friday was my second time playing wth sriver G2. Strokes very fast and kind of flat. Good for smashing and away from table game. Block was also good however looping need to be adjusted for good spin. Control was very easy however need to be more practice with serve and serve return.

He is two wing looper. I always on defensive side and have to blok his attacked especially on backhand. He knew I weak on backhand and take advantage of it. I should try attack from backhand more often for better future. Couples of loop on serve get me some advantage. Fast forhand drive on rising ball also gave me couple of points. I lost many points on away from table rally. He was good on ball placing on wide forehand and wide backhand.

Winning With Passive Block
Me vs Mokhtar(3-1)
His attempt to attack from backhand using forehand were limited by good ball placing. Controlled attack and no spin stroke to his pimpled were good method of gaining points.
Me vs Matnor(3-2)
Very competitive game. Played with this guy I rarely get 3rd ball killed. Serve must be low enough to avoid from being attacked like low chop serve. Backhand rally, I usually block his backhand loop and win points from his poor attacked. Play away from table is good strategy to take his sidespin loop. Hard to play short game because he was good at positioning ball. I got less smash opportunity because of good ball placing and sidespin loop. My block were high but he miss many points from my good defence. This is my first time win this year against this guy.
Me vs Mie JKR(4-0)
He continuously try to loop my servess but my serve were too low and he lost most of the points from that. Maybe he want to practice loop again low no spin ball but he could not make it. I know he hate these type of ball and it was a good strategy against him.
Me vs Zuri(3-2)
First two game I was totally outplayed. My smash/attack were off table because of his very spinny high arc loop. My attacking game was not effective and I change strategy from attacking style to defending style by blocking his loops. After that he start to miss many points from my passive block and good serve return placing. I also get many points from sidespin+underspin serve to the middle. My game were totally defence but it work for a winner. However for good competitive game I should loop back or counter attack his loops.

Backhand Loop
Lat night I practice backhand stroke(loop) with mokhtar. He tell me the right way of doing it. So far I just push the ball(not looping). The ball speed was faster with less effort by using this method. For more stable backhand loop I need to practice more of this stroke.
Game Result
Me vs Mokhtar (3-1)
Me vs Mie Sulong(6-4)
His serve still effective for 3rd ball kill. However I got several points from looping his serve though. Sometime I pushed short to avoid being attacked.
Reflective;
1. Loop serve-sometime good sometime off the table. Need more practice on this and look for suitable ball.
2. Push on serve- should be short & low enough from backhand and forehand. Bad Forehand push get attacked and need for faster push.
3. Serve- I got variation of serves but the most effective serve last night was short backspin serve to his right. His weak return to my left get looped from my backhand( I just learn during stroke with mokhtar). I got many points from this serve.
4. Block- should more active block applied. Block near table seldom done.
5. Rally- I won most of rallies.
6. Sidespin ball- I struggled to handle this type of spin. Choice:Fast take or back to side.

Me vs Lan Jaro (3-0)
Everything was great for me.
Me vs Hazlee(2-3) & (2-3)
I was leading 2-0 but after that my game getting slower and get beaten three games after that.
Positioning ball to my left were his main weapon to get points. I Should be more aggresive on backhand to avoid exploitation from my opponents.

Balok Players
Three balok players came here for friendly game, but only two of them played. They're so good that none of our club member could beat them. I played one of them but I was totally outplayed.
His fast push and block make me in trouble to return the ball. The reason for this was probably from my weak half court stroke. I should practice on fast stroke(push, loop) for short game.
Double game with mie JKR against M.nor & Lie, we won 3-2.
Single against mie sulong- I lost 0-3. His fast 3rd ball attack get lots of points. My mind set was not tuned to win and lack of attack was the main factor of the loss. Ball placement also should be my choice for next game against him.
Next game against mokhtar, I really show my ability. Third ball attack after long ball serve, short serve return, and controlled shot were my big weapon of winning. I won 3-0.

Play at Politeknik
Several play at poli with suhardi
day 1- win 3-0
day 2- lost 1-3
day 3-lost 0-4
This guy is a good chopper. I cannot loop his heavy backspin serve and backspin return with my higher sheet. His backhand is better than me. Sometime my backhand return get killed. His weakness is smash get into net when I chop his serve. I will try loop his backspin more often. I have to practice using higher rubber for looping backspin.
I also met a good blocker. My stroke get block many times. Maybe I should placing ball at different location.

Day 5 with TBS
This is second time for TBS with sriver/H3 pro setup. Game were good but more of defensive game. I lost all the game but they were pretty close game. Chance for offensive not much. Maybe I have to create it rather than waiting for 3 ball attack from good serve only. How to be offensive? close to table or away from table? I always back of from table for defence because my block close to table did not good. Usually I loop topspin for long distance defence. By using higher for forehand defence and using horizontal stroke maybe not suitable but for fast attack and block it is good choice. Choosing sriver L maybe good for this but how about spin and fast loop?
Me vs Matnor(2-3)
This guy is a controll player. He is good on placing the ball. If not careful your serve will get kill. Against him I have to serve real low or give him heavy fast backspin serve. Forget about getting pop up from serve. I have to back of the table after serve and when receive spinny serve. He always attack after short backspin serve. So be sure that your returns are low. Play against him my defence and attacking game are balanced.
Me vs Mie sulong(2-3)
Lately I lost to this guy. He is very fast attacking player and close to table looper. Play against him make me in defence mode. I need to give him high spinny ball and send the ball to his left.
If I can attack his serve, I will win the point. If I play attacking game, most probably I win the game.
Me vs Hazlee(2-4)
Playing style is pretty close to mat nor. I have to run the table to get the ball. He controll the game and I more of in defensive position. Hard to attack for a win.
Me vs Din post(1-4)
His ability to atack with pimple make me in trouble. His forehand loop is very fast too. Hard to win against him. The only way is attack whenever posible with spinny loop or flat kill.
Playing Double
My double game is geting better. My serve return using either H3 pro or Higher very good and hard to be attacked. My block and looping also good. However I need to be more ready on my position after my partner's stroke.

Change Again
With new blade(TBS), I changed my setup again using higher/huricane pro III. Setup same like a month before but with different blade. My stroke faster than before and my forehand smash/loop feel great. My attacking game get stronger. I will stay for this setup as long as the feel still remain this good.
Me vs Zuri(0-3) and (2-3)
overall game - I satisfied with my performance. Attack, block and serve were good.Third ball attack from no spin serve to his left work fine. Sometime serve to the middle make him in trouble too. Receive serve from forehand and backhand need to be improved. Away from table is good strategy against him.
Me vs Matnor(1-3)
His spinny serve to my backhand gave him easy point. However my return getting better over time. He was good at positioning the ball and quick serve attack.
